So Long Sweet Summer

What exactly do you do when one summer has changed you in so many ways? It seems impossible to say goodbye to all the people who are responsible for your change. We all came into this unexpecting, not knowing what was going to happen, some of us even skeptical about the whole summer. I believe that what happened to all of us was something that none of us could have even dreamed. We all became best friends. We spent hours and hours and HOURS in eachothers company and were sometimes even at eachothers throats but in the end, we were all honest with eachother, and that is what made us so close.

Alyssa - Thank you for all your hard work. You really kept the group together this summer. All your dedication rubbed off on everyone else and everyone began to care about it as much as you. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are right now. On a more personal level, I have met the person I want to be in you. Your unwavering kindness and goodhearted nature is something I strive for, and something I found in you. Your ability to always have a smile on your face and open arms to anyone will take you so far. I know I tease you constantly but I hope you know that that is out of pure love for you. Really. You are an amazing person, and I want to thank you for being my best friend.

Melissa (MP) - Thank you for all your hard work. Your idea for the group was something you had the determination to make come alive. And it did. And we thank you for that. Without you, we would definitely not be here today. Everyone knows that you wanted nothing but success for this group, and everyone appreciates that very much. It will not be the same next year without you, but we understand that you graduated and needed to get a real job. We hope you know that you are always welcome at any time to sing with us and stay with us next summer. We love you, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the oppurtunity.

Amanda - Thank you for all your hard work. Your dedication to the music was unbelievable. You sat in front of us at rehearsals, sometimes for 5 hours at a time, going over the same exact thing with us over and over again. You know everyone's part on every single song. We would not be where we are without you. I know I give you alot of crap...not like you don't give ME alot of crap...but you know how I feel about you. And if you don't, I'm going to tell you. You are my best friend. My future sister-in-law. The person who can always make me laugh and vice versa. I am so happy to have met you. My life wouldn't be the same if I hadn't. Thank you for your friendship.

Sarah - Thank you for all your hard work. Your dedication to this group was obvious. Your constant phone calls that got us gigs and got our name out there was a crazy help to the group. Don't think the group didn't notice that your hard work and dedication because we did. And we appreciate it so much. We know that you had a hard summer job and the fact that you were able to keep your cool and come back from doing that all day to learn music and work with the group shows alot about your character. Thank you for this summer.

Jenn - Thank you for all your hard work. Your smile is what got me through the hard times this summer. Your compassion and understanding towards everyone was amazing. Your dedication to the betterment of the group is what made this summer worthwhile to everyone. Your input and ideas were so valuable in so many ways, and I can't even begin to describe to you how happy I am that I met you. You will go so far. Your personality is what this group needs. You ARE Cape Harmony. Our late night talks and funny faces to eachother during performances is something I will hold in my heart for the rest of my life. My year will not be the same without you always being in the next room. My world will be a little sadder without your constant percing while making dinner. I love you so much, thank you for being you.

Jocelyn - Thank you for all your hard work. Your trustworthiness and compassion is something that stood out to me from the moment that I met you. Your goofiness and smile always brightened even my darkest of days. America will be losing an amazing girl for a semester, and Italy is going to be lucky to get you for that time. Your poise and professional stature assures me that we will see absolutely amazing things from you. You are the only one that understands my Dawson's Creek obsession! What am I going to do without you? I am so glad to have met you this summer. You are an amazing person, and I love you with all of my heart. Be safe in Italy, meet a gorgeous Italian Stallion, bring him back for me (JUST KIDDING I ALREADY HAVE ONE!), and come visit the second you get back.

Shannon - Thank you for all your hard work. You were the first to say goodbye this morning, and when you came into my room while I was asleep and gave me a little kissy on the head, it really broke my heart. I got so unbelievably sad. I know we won't be that far away this school year but it seems like worlds apart. I can't wait until you live in the house next summer and I can go on ShannoBanano overload. I know it was hard to not live with us, to drive crazy amounts of miles everyday and sit in a hot living room and sing until the wee small hours of the morning, but you never complained, and you always showed complete and total dedication to this group. Thank you so much for everything. I am so happy to have met you and come to know you in the way that I do. I love you so much.

Drew - Drewski. Roomie. Words cannot even describe my love for you, but I will try. For starters, I loved being your roommate. I can't imagine having lived with anyone else. I felt that we had a perfect balance and friendship. I love the person you are, and I love the person you have become this summer. Your dedication to this group was amazing. You pushed everything aside and had the group's best interest at heart. Your strength of character is what kept me going this summer. You are one of the strongest people I know. I will miss everything about you this year. Our talks that went until 5 AM, our lazy beach days, our little messy room, kool-aid packets, LUCY, etc...Everything. Your intelligence and openness with everyone is what I love most about you. I just wanted to tell you that you proved everyone wrong this summer. You proved that you weren't just some little blonde from Jersey. No one sees you as that. We see you as a strong-willed, determined, loving, brilliant, kind, beautiful woman, who will do unbelievable things with her life. I love you SO much.

And so, before I sign off until next summer, I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who read my entries and followed our group. If it weren't for people like you, who cared, we wouldn't be who and where we are today. Also, I would like to thank our number one fans. Our families. Without their support and their heart, and their faith in us, we would be no where. So thank you, we love with everything that we are. My life will be a little less bright until next summer, when I am back with all of these girls, doing this all over again. And so, I am going to pack up my little black honda and drive back to Keene, New Hampshire, and wish and hope that the year flies by, so I can be back with my second family. Thank you Cape Cod, for welcoming us with open arms, taking us in, and giving us the best summer of our lives.

Girls: I love you all. Please don't change too much over this next year. I can't wait until we are all back together again.

"No matter where life takes you, big cities, small towns, you'll inevitably come across small minds. People who think they're better than you. People who think that material things, or being pretty or popular, automatically make you a worthwhile human being. None of these things matter. Unless you have a strength of character, intergtity...and if you're lucky enough to have any of these things, don't sell out. Don't ever sell out. So when you meet a person for the first time, don't judge them by their station in life, because who knows, that person just might end up being your best friend." -Dawson's Creek

Well, that's it. See you next summer. <3

NO INTERNET!!!

Life is so difficult without internet. The lack of internet is why I haven't been writing - I promise I'm not lazy. So...there are only 6 days left in Cape Harmony season 1. I can absolutely say that I am a changed girl since the day I walked into this house back in May. So many new friendships were formed, so many walls were broken down, and soooo much love has just exploded in this group. I do not know what I am going to do in 6 days when I have to say goodbye to my BEST friends and drive by myself back up to Keene, NH. What am I going to do when I can't wake up in the morning and see Drew across the room? When I can't walk to the beach? When I can't wander into the other girls' rooms and dance around like a crazy person? When I can't sit in a room with 8 other people and laugh at nothing for hours on end? When I can't have 3 hour conversations with these people and feel like it lasted only 20 minutes? When I can't go to one of these girls when I have a problem? I mean I know that they're only a little phone call away but it is so different when you are living with these girls 24/7. It is so comforting to know that I can walk across the hall and be in a warm, safe, trusting environment. Okay I can't think about any of this now. I'm going to save the sappy sentimental entry for the last day.
